SASSA Warns Public: 1Life Insurance Accused Of Logo Misuse Scam

After finding out that 1Life Insurance was using the South African Social Security Agency’s (Sassa) branding without permission, Sassa has tried to distance itself from the company. This has raised serious concerns about misleading consumers.

Sassa says it is not working with 1Life Insurance.

Sassa has raised the alarm about what it calls the illegal use of its logo by 1Life Insurance on the company’s advertising materials.

The agency says that the insurance company’s branding makes it look like the two companies are working together when they aren’t.

“The Agency is NOT in partnership with 1Life Insurance to provide funeral cover,” Sassa said. “Sassa strongly distances itself from this.”

The agency also made it very clear that this kind of arrangement is completely outside of what it does.

Sassa’s thoughts on its relationship with insurers

Sassa took the chance to explain its general position on business partnerships in the insurance and funeral cover space, in addition to the specific dispute with 1Life.

The agency said it does not have any ties to these kinds of groups.

The agency said, “Sassa never works with insurance companies or funeral plans.”

It made it clear that any suggestion of such an arrangement, no matter which company is involved, would be false.

The warning seemed to be aimed at more than just 1Life Insurance; it also seemed to be aimed at the whole industry.
