SASSA Grant-In-Aid Payment Date April 2026: When Beneficiaries Will Receive Payments

The Grant-in-Aid is a special support payment provided by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) to beneficiaries who need full-time assistance due to serious physical or mental health conditions. This grant works as an additional benefit linked to an existing social grant, meaning a person must already be receiving a primary grant to qualify. Individuals who receive the Older Person’s Grant, Disability Grant, or War Veteran’s Grant can become eligible for Grant-in-Aid if they require constant daily care from another person. This program offers extra financial support to help beneficiaries pay for caregivers who assist with everyday tasks. These tasks include bathing, dressing, cooking, and managing personal care activities that the individual cannot perform independently. The goal is to improve the quality of life and ensure proper care for those who are fully dependent on others.

Important Guidance for Beneficiaries

SASSA has advised beneficiaries not to rush to withdraw their funds immediately after payment. The money will remain safe in their bank account or SASSA card until they choose to access it. Beneficiaries can withdraw their payments through various methods, including ATMs, bank accounts, SASSA cards, and selected retail stores across the country. It is also important for beneficiaries to keep their personal and banking details updated with SASSA. This helps avoid delays and ensures smooth and timely payment processing without any issues.
